Volvo Unveils the XC40 Compact SUV in Milan

In a setting befitting the presentation of something new and unique, Volvo recently introduced the 2019 XC40 compact SUV during Fashion Week in Milan. While the automotive world is awash with look-alike small SUVs, the XC40 stands apart thanks to its distinct, rugged appearance.

The XC40 is the first Volvo vehicle to make use of the company's new CMA platform, which will be shared with other small vehicles the company has in its development pipeline.

When it's released next spring, the 2019 XC40 will feature all-wheel drive and a T5 turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that pairs to an 8-speed automatic transmission to make 250 horsepower. Later, a T4 engine will be available, but only with front-wheel drive.

Inside, the cabin features a wealth of tech-rich amenities such as a sleek vertical touchscreen display, embedded LTE connectivity and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
